What is CBD isolate?
CBD isolate is “pure CBD”. CBD molecules are separated from the rest of the compounds that are naturally occurring in the hemp plant. CBD isolate usually appears as a crystalline white powder. CBD from Ohio Apothecary is extracted from a CBD rich hemp plant. So, isolate based products contain no THC. This allows the user to enjoy the benefits of CBD without the worry of THC. What is the difference between Isolate Products and Full Spectrum Products?
The short answer is CBD isolate contains no THC. Full spectrum on the other hand means there is a very small amount of THC present. All Ohio Apothecary products are rigorously tested to comply with state and federal mandates to remain below .3% total THC on a dry weight basis. Caution should be taken when using full spectrum products particularly if you undergo drug testing as there is a slight chance you will test positive for THC. Full spectrum products however give you the full benefit of the hemp plant as they can contain other beneficial cannabinoids such as CBD, CBG, CBC and small amounts of THC. They also include terpenes - the aromatic oils that give your favorite varieties distinctive flavors like citrus, berry, mint, and pine. These oils, secreted in the flower’s sticky resin glands, also appear in many other herbs, fruits, and plants. They play a significant role in the therapeutic and medicinal use of hemp.
How long does it take for CBD to take effect?
The length of time it takes for CBD to take effect will depend on the route of administration. The fastest effect will be felt from smoking or vaporization (onset of effects in minutes). Topical administration of CBD will be felt quickly as well - around 20 minutes. The next fastest effect will be felt from a sublingual (under the tongue) dosage (onset of effects in 15 – 60 minutes). The slowest effect (but the longest lasting) will be felt from oral ingestion (onset felt in about 60-90 minutes).
How long do you keep CBD tincture under your tongue if taking sublingually?
Try to keep the CBD tincture under your tongue for at least 30 seconds. It may take slightly longer for it to fully absorb, but in general, the longer you hold it, usually - the better it will absorb. Don't worry if you ingest CBS tincture - it won't hurt you. It will just take longer to notice the affects and the affects may be more subtle since it will be processed through digestion.
Is CBD oil addictive?
Almost any substance on our planet can be addictive, but no CBD is not known to be an addictive drug. In fact, CBD has shown strong potential to be a useful tool to help people break addictions to harmful substances.
CBD Oil VS Hemp Oil
Hemp seed oil and CBD oil are very different products. CBD oils use primarily the flowers of the hemp plant in its production. These contain a higher concentration of CBD, which is a compound with numerous potential health benefits. Meanwhile, hemp seed oil comes from pressing mature hemp seeds and is typically used as a carrier oil or in food/supplements.
Do drug tests look for CBD?
No. Drug tests look for THC, the psychoactive cannabinoid found in the cannabis plant. Drug tests do not specifically test for CBD, but be aware that our Full Spectrum line contains small amounts of THC. Even if the amount of THC is very small (less than 0.3% THC which is the legal limit in Ohio), a drug test failure can occur if the person using a CBD oil that tests for even trace amounts of THC.
