About Us

Ohio Apothecary is a small family business, located in Marysville, Ohio and born out of the desire to find preventative and alternative health remedies. 

Herbal medicine has been a valuable tool for thousands of years however modern science’s effectiveness has consequentially turned our heads from the “traditional” ways.

We have long believed a balance can exist between homeopathic remedies and modern medicine and we would like to help build the bridge between the two.

This idea was the catalyst for our research into natural remedies and how we could apply them to our lives. We had always grown gardens for food and loved being able to work with nature that way, so we started incorporating herbs and beneficial plants alongside the usual garden assortment. In that process we naturally began developing teas, salves and tinctures for ourselves and then for family and friends. 

Then, when we discovered the additional benefits of CBD oil, we began to incorporate it in our own salves and tinctures. 

We now have a farm where we are able to grow our own CBD and other cannabinoid rich hemp as licensed Ohio Hemp Cultivators and from that process our own full line of high grade CBD products that are Ohio Department of Agriculture certified for potency and purity. Ohio has some of the most stringent testing procedures in the country, so if it comes from Ohio Apothecary, you can be sure that it is safe, rigorously tested and accurately described.

Simply put, we enjoy helping people live the best life they can!

The average life expectancy has changed from a mere 41 years in the 1950’s to the high 70’s in 2016. However, the four most recent years we’ve seen a decrease in life expectancy due in large to drug overdose and suicide in individuals aging in their 20’s to early 40’s. This coupled with a pandemic in 2020, marks the longest sustained decline in expected lifespan since the turbulent 1915 to 1918 timeframe.

What does this mean?

1. The population of 50+ has increased creating a need for long-term health and wellness aids for this generation.

2. Our 20 to 40 year-olds need physical and mental support quickly.

We believe making sustainable life choices in health and mental wellness is a small start in turning those statistics around. It is an enormous undertaking and we believe moving in that direction is a good step, no matter how small.
